You need arm restraints or a window net.
You do not need a race seat, although it is difficult to correctly use harnesses without cutting holes in the seat.

Re: New to Hillclimb - Here's my plan
Hello there, happy to be posting to this group, very excited to join the hillclimb races this year. Before I execute all the purchases and build the car, I want to lay it out for you guys to see what you think -Car is a 97 5th gen Prelude, I've owned it for 12 years -Aiming for the DSP class, here ...

Re: SCCA Time Trial Annocement
....I'm curious if you (or anyone else) thinks that having a large number of classes and a wide variety of cars is a very good thing? Rich I'm probably in the minority, but no. I wish we could shrink it to 20 or less. It is frankly ridiculous to have 46 (?) classes for 80-120 entrants. The way we h...

Re: Classes & Fees
Hey thanks Geo! That was very helpful. Seems like a ton of fun. I hope to make an event in 2018. I don't see a home for this car in the SCCA rules so i guess it will be considered special... S2? Happy New Year! It fits into SMX, think of it as TTU in NASA speak. Look forward to seeing you in 2018

Run in FSP. Your car is best suited for that class, ITA is a faster class than FSP is.

Figured it out. Myautoevents and hotmail apparently don't like each other. If you are stuck in 2004 like I was, change your email to something a bit cooler.

Anyone else having issues with myautoevents? Trying to register but something seems to be wrong with the site. Says "Java exception". Tried chrome and explorer to no avail.

Re: Car Classifications and other Questions
Thanks for the info. I will need to get going on my chassis then. Yeah I am anticipating possible hood clearance issues. I've seen guys who make them fit, and guys who dont. If I run a flat bottom pan I might be able to get the motor low enough. I'm probably going to run a Victor Jr. intake and the...

Re: Car Classifications and other Questions
Rollcage guy is building mine, car goes there in a couple weeks, he has a waiting list so if you plan on taking your there I would try to schedule it soon. You will have issues with hood clearance running a carb if that means anything. At least SBC stuff is cheap, shouldn't have much of a hard time ...

Re: Car Classifications and other Questions
I have a pretty shitty build thread on another site, not much detail but it's something http://www.steelcitymusclecars.com/forums/showthread.php/31992-E36-M3-LS1-T56-swap Most of the info I got was from Bimmerforums and LS1tech. Swap was pretty easy. Used CXRacing kit, decent for the money but the e...

Very cool. Will you have it ready for the first event? Any more details on the build?

Glad to see you planning on moving on after that wreck, it was a rough one. I would go with the C5. The only thing an LT1 does well is serve as a pretty decent boat anchor.

Re: Car Classifications and other Questions
An XP car (it is an autocross class) would end up (usually) in SMX. It is sort of like a Street Modified that allows engine swaps across manufacturers. The class requires a full cage. This is a class that was new for '16 that was added specifically to give the swapped cars a place to run without bei...
