Re: Vehicle classification ruling.

Alan,

SCCA never had a GTO class that was IMSA and their GTO class allowed many more modifications than SCCA GT1 class. I am thinking that you are more a Super Production O car than anything else. If not then as Nelson wrote we have Special classes.

Re: New to the PA Hillclimb

You will need a Scca membership and a Time Trials novice permit. Full road racing driver's gear; suit, helmet, shoes, gloves, socks, balacava, and arm restraints since I think you own a Lola formula ford, legal seat belts, fire system or bottle(This differs from the Road Racing GCR). The Level 4 par...

Re: Roll bar/chassis stamping records

Steve,
SCCA started stamping in the early 70s and for a few years BMR did not have a national licenced tech inspector.
Need to ask some older members like Alex Miller, John Flannery, or Marc Gerstein. Otherwise info might be lost in time.

Magnetic sheet has a hard time covering vinyl like a number panel or old school circle.

Re: Concerning my crash at Giants....

Not to mention that the braking zone into the elbow is table top ramp. The car wants to compress the suspension on the ramp, once the car reaches the table top the suspension goes light. The brakes lock up and you become a passenger. It kind of sucks because in a low powered car you want to carry as...

Re: 2012 Change with Tech

Grace, Nothing has really has been changed on how tech is done, just more user friendly. The logbook and annuals will stay the same, except the car will get an annual tech sticker instead of an event sticker that will be good for a whole season unless something bad happens. Tech sheets can be downlo...

Re: Interested in designing/building a car

First, formula 600 is a proposed class based off a f500 car. Maybe 6 cars built to these rules. Second, a Diasio is a track day car that happens to meet the sports racing rules. Very uncompetive compared to a real sports racer. Third, Joel Lipperini built a formula car using a 600 engine. It was qui...

Re: New to Hill Climb Saying hello!

Before you go out and buy a ton of safety gear, make sure that rollbars meet the GCR for diameter and thickness. Quite a few f500s were made solo only
cars when the scca required larger bars for all cars under
1000lbs

Re: Holidays Matter

Yeah, Santa was going for the 2 bonus pts for setting a new class record. I do have a few questions, since Santa crashed he must have been missin Rudolph, which would have put him in special 2. 1 horse sleigh=fv 8 rdeer=special 2 9 rdeer=special 3 I wonder what Matt and John said to Santa after the ...

Re: Proposed change for 2012 year end points.

Having been pts keeper, all of this extra stuff can be a real pita. Plus, i can see a person win more events than another but, lose the championship do to a record. Currently, it takes 2 events to recover from a 2nd place, if your even with another driver. Example, driver 1 has a 10,9,9 for 28 and d...

Re: Springtown H/C

First, Springtown is located in Philly Region and this is not the first time that someone from Springtown has asked to revive the event. Second, having driven the hill in the last 6 months. I would say it is not a suitable course for our cars, the surface is very bumpy, multiple places for cars to g...

Re: Springtown H/C

Drifting Drive is in Springtown, PA right off of PA 412/212 near Thompson's Savage. Good luck with your search, the house used for the start line area is gone, a new development was built just above the start line area, still bumpy surface, and I do not remember a bridge on the road.

Shelby Cosner, RIP

Today, Jim and Laura Cosner lost their beloved shelty dog of 14 years, Shelby. Most of us in the PHA will remember, Shelby for her famous scooter rides, helping Jim tech the various cars of the PHA as well as being guard dog to the Cosner motorcoach. Shelby was also a champion show dog, inspired a h...
