Re: Log book / Giants Hill Climb

Hi John Thanks for the reply! Yes, I already have a club racing novice permit. I actually did apply and have a time-trial novice permit...but i think i dont really need that with the club racing permit? I received my permit in October last year when i did a regional race at Watkins with a Spec Racer...

Log book / Giants Hill Climb

Hi Folks! Been talking about bringing my 1967 Pontiac GTO "Road Race" car to the Giants Hill Climb Its getting close! I hope to paint it in about 3 weeks, most of the mechanical is complete. Finishing some roll cage welding this week. Even sucked it up and spent the $$$ on the ATL Fuel Cel...

Re: ### Fuel Cell Needs

Thanks for the info and advice, definately try to stay away from ethanol!

I'm going with the ATL FIA-3 rated fuel cell, better option, better safety, and maybe i can run it in a regular SCCA race for grins one day.

Looking forward to getting it on the road soon and ready for a hill climb :)

Re: ### Fuel Cell Needs

Ah got it! I see, thanks. I have another car that I am planning to use for regular club-racing. Seems like the vintage groups don't really require an FIA certified fuel cell either. I may still get the ATL FIA-3 fuel cell, but either way, I will definately put some safe tank in there that wont splas...

Re: ### Fuel Cell Needs

Hi Bob, thanks for the reply! I agree on the can't be too well prepared idea :) and thanks for the encoragement on the GTO idea. I think it will be pretty unique and it should be a fun time, which is the main point right ?! I was looking at the ATL fuel cell which is an FIA approved cell with the bl...

### Fuel Cell Needs

Hi Folks, question on fuel cell need/usage for my 1967 GTO I am working on and would like to run Giant's this year with it. What is the real requirement for a fuel cell? GCR 9.3 seems to say that if a car is a 'vintage' class, then it would not need a fuel cell? Otherwise it would need an FIA cell. ...

Re: ### Roll Cage Setup

Right , kill the ignition/power not just "stop charging" ;) Thanks - I am hoping to have it out for Giants this year. I'm picking up the pace on it! Hopefully will have a cage setup near the end of feb, engine is coming back from the machine shop in a few weeks. new disc brakes, coil-over ...

Re: ### Roll Cage Setup

hi guys, thanks! i am in upstate ny...outside of Ithaca new york. I'm about 90 minutes from Scranton. I still have family/friends down there and I visit a few times a year. And right! The cutoff switch, externally accessible. thanks :) So on the frame/cage mounting. Would you then suggest an "L...

Re: ### Roll Cage Setup

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I dont plan to run slicks, most likely AVON radials (I run them on my Shelby Cobra replica) and they are about a street legal and close to a slick as you can get, so I should be OK there. On the frame/plates - if the car has a full frame - can you still use plates? I would ...

### Roll Cage Setup

Hello! I am working on car to hopefully be ready for SCCA Vintage racing and I would love to do some HillClimbs. Specifically Giants since it is near my old home-town. The car is a 1967 Pontiac GTO. It should be running and driving in about 3-4 months and painted and "neat-and-clean" hopef...
