Re: New to hill climb and unclear if I need a window net
Arm restraints are allowed, actually they would be required if the car is open or a targa. Generally we require removable roofs to be removed during competition to avoid the risk of it coming off at high speed or during an incident. There are some allowances if it's securely mounted but the safe ans...

Re: Pobst Position
Someone should write a letter to Sportscar and offer Randy and invitation to one of our hills. He's always been a down to earth, grassroots kind of racer. It would be fun to see him tackle on of our hills.

Re: 2015 Pagoda Hillclimb
I don't have a lot of time right now so I'll be brief. The Chief Steward of the event in combination with the Event Chair are responsible for setting the event schedule as they are collectively responsible for the overall operation of the event. Changing the schedule without the direct agreement of ...

Re: Rose Valley Cancelled
Thanks for the offer Steve, the out pouring of help and support from all involved has been amazing throughout trying to restart the event. Unfortunately despite everyone's best efforts and trying to consider different options we don't have a viable pit area. The gas pipeline buried in the pit field ...

Re: More Rose Valley
Carol, there is no option for one day entry. The costs are the same regardless of if a car makes one run or every run that weekend. The paddock area is all grass and we are hopeful that the weather will cooperate to minimize the risk of mud. Fortunately the farmers in the area enjoy helping people o...

Thanks Carol! I hope the vacation was relaxing and I certainly feel better knowing that we are now well over the 17 entries we had last night.

Re: Rose Valley road surface
Thanks for providing an update Steve after checking out the course. I can provide my own update which is the event sanction has been issued so we are will on our way to holding the event. For all of you racers I know it's cold (and snowy) out now but May 2nd will be here in no time. Don't put off pr...

Re: Race Suit Class Requirement?
The problem with a cool shirt is you then never want to get out of the car. Unless you make up a portable cooler/pump/battery setup to roll around behind you.

Re: Rose Valley - MAYBE
While not as wide as Giant's (since the repaving in 200X) the width is similar to Weatherly. The pictures did make me look twice as it appears as narrow as Hershey but that's just an illusion, it's no different than a typical two lane PA road.

Re: ***NOVICES***
Thanks Steve, I think this is a great change to help streamline Saturday mornings. If I can offer one clarification is that I would like the novice to line up their cars in a staging area that won't create a bottleneck at the start line while we are getting workers and other equipment setup. For Wea...

Re: 2014 Duryea Hillclimb
Rich, thanks to you and George for tracking down the best alternative. It probably wouldn't hurt to coordinate with the other events sites to see if they would be interested in a group buy. At the very least I can see the benefit of having a limited quantity on hand for the course truck. I'll be hap...

Re: Car classification question
I'm not going to rehash what is literally decades of debate on roll bars and cages here. My response above is based on the rules that PHA has collectively agreed to operate under. While we all try to be as friendly and inclusive as practical everyone acknowledges that some levels of safety equipment...

Re: Car classification question
Unfortunately as others pointed out the combination as you describe it doesn't fit any existing GCR or Solo class due to the cross manufacturer engine swap. That means you need to rely on "regional" classes but more importantly because of the extreme potential once you cross into the terri...

Re: Where to find the supps for 2014
The typical PHA specific classes (Vintage, INEX, etc..) are referenced in the PHA rulebook with the same language as provided in the supps in previous years. Check pages 37 & 38 from the link on the PHA website. That being said it might be worth providing that portion as a more direct link on th...

Re: Where to find the supps for 2014
This year is a much different situation as we will be using a PHA specific set of rules that covers all of the SCCA minimum requirements as well as the previous rules AND the typical items out of the event form supps. This means the entry form supps can be shorter and will typically be focused on ev...

Re: New Time Trials Rules
And the point I made in my prior post is the old rules never prevented us from safely holding an event within the bounds of the rule book. No change was needed to achieve the goal you stated.
