I will be there setting up, and doing tech. My car is still broke so I won't be running.
It'll be nice to see you guys again.

Re: Interested in designing/building a car
Are you looking at a Formula SAE car? I only ask because you mentioned a college professor. IIRC, the roll cage requirments between FSAE and SCCA/PHA are not compatible (FSAE only requires 1" tubing). Whatever you decide on make sure you read the rules of all possible places you could be racing...

Re: MR2 Classing for PHA events
...The fact that there is not many CSP prepped 91 to 95 MR2s running make it easy to get swept under the rug... :) :) Especially now that they are in BSP :) In all seriousness, just come out and have a good time. The safety requirments don't change from one SP class to another, so if things change ...

Re: MR2 Classing for PHA events
You should run in your current autocross class, so BSP in this case. The quoted text refers to Showroom Stock classes which have an age restriction for club racing. I'm not sure on how this is handled for hillclimb, but I am guessing that they are allowed to continue running in the class even if the...

Re: 24 Hours of LeMons
I did the one at Summit Point last year in a Neon. Car only managed 40 something laps between brake problems, wiring that was rubbed through, and finally a head gasket failure.
Doing it again this year. Same place, different car (BMW E30 with Ford 5.0 from an 87 Mustang).

Good to see you making progress.
On the shaker, could you turn it around so the "intake" is facing the windshield?

Re: Very interested in getting behind the wheel!
For SM or SMF you need most of the interior in the car. You are allowed to remove the rear seat, and any panels that you need to in order to install the rollcage (a bit of a gray area). You would have to reinstall the passenger seat, carpet, center console, headliner and any of the rear panels that ...

Re: New to Hillclimbing
Dave, In SM you can use any engine manufactured my the car manufacturer. It has nothing to do with the car, year, or lines in the rule book. If he wanted he could put a Viper V10 in place of a slant six (just an example). It is pretty wide open, and as Steve posted, the displacement only has to do w...
