A Few pics from 2013 Spring Jefferson

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kakennedy/ ... 853841899/

Zoomed out ones were with my iPhone and not so great, the rest were with my Canon Point and Shoot SX120 which takes great photos, but ran out of batteries.

My Thoughts from Jefferson (2013 - 1st time)

I just wanted to share that this was my first experience running Jefferson and I had great time. The track layout is challenging but at the same time very friendly. You don't have to worry about the trees and guard rails or crowns of the road surface. Surface does have a few spots to watch out for, ...

Re: Irratic - Spring Jefferson

I don't see anything wrong ;) I missed a shift on that straight twice over the weekend and almost spun at that corner on one occasion. I blame my incodents on the car breaking up around 5k the entire weekend. What kind of camera are you using? I've got father's day and a birthday coming up and I've ...

Re: The Eternal Search for Volunteers

Safety is always the most important thing and if there aren't enough workers then we can't be safe. A suggestion for the future would be the option for drivers to supply a worker. If a driver supplies a worker it would make them exempt from what I assume is the lottery of being chosen to work if nee...

Duryea Bracelet Charm

For those of you who own, or have wives that own, a "Pandora" style charm bracelet you might be interested in this. Justin Bortz Jewelers http://www.justinbortz.com/ in West Reading has been slowly designing a series of Reading specific charms. There is one of the Pagoda already, as well a...

Re: Duryea

So... I don't quite know what to say other than thank you to everyone! As many of you may or may not know I was entered to run Duryea for my first time in years. I even registered and teched, in the pooring rain, friday night. But I guess god had a slightly different plan for me that weekend, and at...

Re: Time Trials Novice Permit and Car Class

Thanks. Not new to Duryea or Pagoda hills, but defenitely new to the TT licesning. My only concern, and I'll talk with you about it John at Duryea, is that while I'm competing as a novice because of the licensing and being away from hillclimbs for about 8 years, I'm not a complete noob so I'm curiou...

Time Trials Novice Permit and Car Class

I received my Time Trials Novice Permit (Really a book) in the mail over the weekend and I see on the cover a place to list the class. How important is that, and do I need to complete all of my novice events in the same class? I'm asking because my goal is to compete in one event this year in the &q...

Magnetic Material for running multiple numbers

I'll be running in a car with two drivers and will need magnetic sheet material to use for the second number. Can anyone suggest a particular material from a particular place that will hold up to lets say 100-120mph like I might see at the finish line or Duryea? There are lots of places that sell 1/...

Re: Entry lists for Hillclimb events.

First off I think it's less about knowing someone as in, "hey how are you, lets do lunch," and more about, "Oh, that's Bill Oswald in the white #881 Miata. Ok." I also think part of it is a different mentality and circumstances rally versus road racing. In Rally you have maybe 6 ...

Re: Hello and running a Miata with only a roll bar?

Ok, so I'm bringing this topic back to life, much like myself. I had some more stupid health things at the end of last year that set me back a bit and despite having my first child due september 4th I'm planning on running a few events next year. I'm getting closer to the goal and have some more que...

Re: Tire Heat Cycling

Keith, I believe those are more street tires and i'm not sure you need to heat cycle street tires. (At least those were the Street tire to have for auto-x 6 or so years ago and i dont recal any heat cycling recomendations). Maybe Joe Specht could shed some light on that? In Falken's words they are ...

Tire Heat Cycling

We just purchased a set of Falken Azenis RT-615K to run the Mt. Washington Hillclimb in our Subaru WRX. What should we be doing to them to get the best life and performance out of them. Is just taking them up to highway speeds for 10-15minutes and then letting them cool good enough?

Thanks,
Keith

Re: Hello and running a Miata with only a roll bar?

Been away from this for a bit on account of it being winter and me enjoying the snow.... To the concerns of Bar vs Cage I am well aware of all the aspects and appreciate the input. I have been around for about 20 years now and have seen just about everything. I'm really only ok with the bar for the ...

Hello and running a Miata with only a roll bar?

Hello all! Some of you guys know me but I'm guessing most of you don't. So I'll start with a brief intro and then get onto my question. My name's Keith Kennedy, age 32, and I'm far from new to hillclimbing and racing in general. I've been wrapped up in Stage/Performance Rallying for the past 12 year...
