Couple of things tech related, First, I'd like to give a friendly reminder to check the dates on your belts and helmets. Second, help us tech guys out by having your tech sheets and log books f...

Re: Car classification and whatnot.

I would agree with Mark. I probably have the softest setup of all of us and it is way to soft.
Personally I would run your car the way it is first. Then see from there if any changes are needed. Most issues can be solved with a simple shock adjustment or tire pressure change.

Re: Car classification and whatnot.

Elsewhere on this site you can go to schedule and results. Look at the results page all the at the bottom at overall finishing. You will see SMX cars in the top 5 at every event. That would be our production based cars with purpose built race cars. Competition is pretty good! Personally I would conc...

Re: Car classification and whatnot.

Welcome to PHA. You are right, our hills are way too much fun to pass up. I have run many different 3rd and 4th gen F-bodies on the hills. Great cars! Lets start with your car. With your interior being stripped and the engine mods, it really leaves you with two classes to run. SMX and Special 3. Spe...

Re: Duryea 2018

Never thought about it that way Stan. You are right.....it does start at registration!
Personally I also like the fact that we get limited runs. I think it favors the veteran drivers. I always consider it my Superbowl. No time to screw around. You have to be good right out of the box!

Re: New to the region - Vehicle eligibility question

So it took a little research to figure out what a 818R was. Factory Five Kit car with Subaru drive train. Is that correct? From what I can see in the pic and looming at our classes it looks like it would be in one of the specials or maybe SPO/SO I depending on engine size. Unfortunately both of thos...

Re: Seat mounting question

Hi Ken. Yes you can mount it to your factory tracks. As for the brace......Ive always been told, if it is a FIA legal seat then no brace is required. Non FIA, recommended and if it is a two piece seat (adjustable back) then it is required. Give me a bit and I'll work on getting some more clarificati...

Time Trials National event

So now that some of the smoke has died down and most of understand what this is, and the fact that it does not effect our hillclimbs, I figured I would share this. I got a email earlier today from Heyward Wagner. He is the guy behinde this program. Here is his response to some of the questions that ...

Re: ME-2 car , modified electric , question cage requirement

Hi Bob. At this moment we only have the three electric classes. All of our events are Level 4 with the exception of Summit point which is still level 3/4. Sounds like a cool build. Post some pics.....maybe it wouldn't be too hard build a legal(removable) cage for it. Good luck with your build.

Re: Bone Stock Honda

If I'm reading our supps correctly, you would be required a cage in ITA. It is a GCR based class and all of those require cages!
Maybe one of our tech guys will chime in?

Re: Bone Stock Honda

hi Joe Welcome to the PHA! Good news and bad news...........the bad. The most stock class we offer is "street prepared". You would fall in to C,D,or F street prepared. I'd have to check the SCCA rules to see which one. The good......you are only required a rollbar. Do yourself a favor befo...

Re: Oil Pump Question/Clarification

HI Ken. My opinion of mechanically driven would be powered by a shaft, gear, belt. Something from the drivetrain. In short....no. Electric is not mechanically driven, it is electrically driven. As far as being allowed I would have to check farther in to it. I will get back to you later when I have t...

Re: Car classification assistance - lots of modifications

Hi Keith. We met at the PHA meeting Saturday. After talking to some people to confrim things it looks like the only class for your Camaro is special 3. We don't use the C.A.M. class in PHA. Sorry bout that. If you can add the bars we talked about to your cage then you should be good to go.

Re: WAKE UP RACERS

Ok Dave, I'll bite a little. I just got done reading THE Unfair Advantage Mark Donohue. After my battles in ESP this year with some really close races I'm afraid I can't divulge too many details. After reading the rule book forwards, backwards, and upside down I still have a lot of room to work with...
