Re: Interested in designing/building a car

Well, Hillclimb special 1/2/3 is the catchall class, but the max n/a displacement for special1 is 1650cc and goes up for 2&3. For forced induction factor 1.5 so boosted spec1 can be 1100cc. Of course, you wouldn't be the first racer who ran a smaller motor than class rules allow. See PHA supps. ...

Re: Autocross Anyone?

Thanks to Everyone at BMR for a well run event! Off hand I can think of Kendrick G. for taking on the responsibility of organizing the event, Rich, Nelson, Nancy and Steve, Jim and Tammy, et al. The last autocross I'd been to was circa 1983 at K.U., also the first one I ran. Seems I forgot a few thi...

Re: Duryea Rescue

A couple years ago one of the corner worker gals rescued an emaciated guinea pig that was huddled next to the com box at turn 2, now Kurt's bunny rescue. I'm beginning to think Duryea should be an scca/spca co-sanctioned event! I can picture it now, Sunday car/dog show in city park with canine co-dr...

A Good Father's Day Read - Racing History Non PHA

June 19 is Father's Day, but it's also the 51st anniversary of the passing of one of racing's relatively unsung heroes - Jimmy Bryan. Jimmy was a 3 time national champion and one time Indy 500 winner. Besides driving open wheel cars on the championship trail he also drove stock cars and sports cars....

Re: Legends car?

Careful Adam, You're talking about getting rid of a running, firebreathing real car to pursue a "someday I'll do that" project. It's a long upgrade path to "someday"; garage needs upgrade, tools need upgrade, skills need upgrade, design library needs upgrade, ...oops, now I need ...

Re: Legends car?

Adam,

There's lively discussion here on building BikeEngineCars, and if you go to the main page more on building sevens or most any car.

Re: Services for Joe Foering

In case anyone needs directions, St Mary's is just south of Kutztown on Kutztown Rd. (business 222). From Reading, north 222 to Kutztown/Virginville exit, pass TC's Food & Spirits and turn left into St. Mary's driveway. From Allentown, south 222 to Crystal Cave/Virginville exit, left onto Crysta...

Re: Interesting

Steve, Thought I recognized the name from reading too many kit car magazines, but am entirely unfamiliar with this model. A quick search turned up this info though. Looks like the logical next step for a confirmed ford guy such as yerself! http://www.motortopia.com/blogs/view/t/garage/j/4892/i/inter...

Re: Indy Car part at Duryea Party Auction

I'll be donating a spare copy of RACING AND SPORTS CAR CHASSIS DESIGN by Costin and Phipps, the same Costin from Lotus who's name gave us Cos-worth. (out of print since the mid 70's) Maybe also a framed RACING HISTORY, REINVENTED poster from the 2005 return of open wheel racing at the Glen, dunno, j...

Re: Reading Racing Reunion

For you guys working the show, I think the classifieds are worth mentioning to people wanting to know about getting started, I was about to go there in a conversation the other day and got sidetracked. That scirocco for $1900 could sway anyone. Joe Foering's outfit is still listed for $4000ish. Mayb...
