REFUND for Rose Valley

Those of you who sent entry fee checks in for the Rose Valley Hill Climb should have heard by now that they will be shredded by the registrar. For those who registered via a Money Order, it was deposited and a refund check was mailed to you this AM. And those who used credit cards through MYAUTOEVEN...

Re: 2015 Pagoda Hillclimb

I understand the purpose of Friday night Novice training. On the other hand, we have a good thing going in the PHA, we should be very careful how we change things. During the years I was Chief Driving Instructor I cannot remember any significant delay due to the novice touring runs. Almost every tim...

Re: SCCA Novice Time Trial Process

When you apply for a Time Trial Novice Permit you will have to complete an applicants medical form (no Doctor at this time). When you successfully complete three events you may apply for the Time Trial License. At that time you will be required to have a medical exam by doctor who will complete the ...

Re: Oscar Koveleski

I have wonderful memories of Oscar, Bud Faust and Bill McDaniels from an era long ago when I was a student at Wilkes and hung out at Faust's garage in Kingston. Sonny Gibbons appeared occasionally, and somewhat later Jack Darin. Many others as well, Noble, Weber, etc. How could one not get into raci...

Re: PHA Banquet Door Prizes

I would like a DVD of your slide show. We are considering sending a package to SCCA HQ with photos and a video. We can talk at the banquet. And yes a couple DVDs as door prizes would be very nice.

Not sure this bit is useful, but since there are no door handles, it was probably a 1953 to 1956 Healey.

2014 Awards & Worker Recognition Banquet

The 2014 PHA banquet is scheduled for the same site as last year: Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey. Exit 80 off Interstate 81. The date is November 1st, 2014. A block of rooms will be held until October 2, 2014. Yeah, I know it sounds early, but we are half way through the season and a couple of peopl...

Did I miss the form (spring Jeff/Weatherly/Giant entries) to order the annual plaque? I remember seeing something about shipping charges will be added, but I must have slept through the task of finding the order form.

Re: New Time Trials Rules

Jeremy, What is your opinion of the one instructor per novice rule? Works well at a PDX. In my opinion it is not practical at a hill climb. Those who wrote these rules should have at least consulted with those of us who have been running one of the better (if not the best) hill climb series in the c...

Re: A Couple Hill Climbing Questions

Jason,
when you register for an event, pick a number you like that is not on the reserved number list. when you get to the event, you may ask that the number be assigned to you for the season for a fee of $5.00. Currently Matt Rowe is the master of reserved numbers.

Re: A Couple Hill Climbing Questions

Jason, Apply to the SCCA (call 800 770-2055 and ask for Membership & Licensing) for a Time Trial Novice Permit application. I believe they are $35.00 and give you up to two years to satisfactorily complete three events (when you will apply for a Time Trial License). With the Novice Permit applic...

Re: Newbie

Write, or call, the SCCA and request( as in buy {$35.00}) a TIME TRIALS NOVICE PERMIT. Yes, you can get one at registration for our events, but it is just easier and quicker if you have the permit in hand. Unless of course you already have a competition. The novice permit requires that you submit a ...

How is the pit area? Can I get in there with a 26' motorhome with a trailer (o/a length 42')? Are the pits remote from the start line?

Joe Katarsky update

A number of folks have been asking me about Joe. He is doing quite well. He either rode or drove to Harrisburg on Saturday for his son's hockey game. I talked to him and he is in great spirits, and getting around quite well (considering he is in a back brace and his left ankle is in a cast). Not eve...

Given that they combined ALL formula cars into one group WDCR deserves a poke in the eye with a humor stick. Folks who swore by racing at Summit will never go back.
