Fire extinguisher placement?
I'm doing the last few things to get my Miata legal for it's first event next weekend. Where should I put the extinuisher? I was thinking passenger footwell on the tranny tunnel. I could also do the parcel shelf inbetween and aft of the seats. I think the passenger footwell would be easier for me, r...

What is a carb float and how/why does it need setting? Also, Rich, I got the spare part you were looking for. I'll bring it to Duryea for you.

Easiest way to get a cheap race car is to buy one already built. Scan the classifieds at sccaforums, improvedtouring.com or where ever else (NER.org used to have a great one that they took down recently). There are lots of IT cars in your price range. Personally I lucked out. Previously I co-drove a...

Solo I safety items needed?
I've aquired an early model Miata and it will be my hill climb car. Eventually Spec Miata but for the next couple years at least it will be prepped for CSP. What additional safety stuff will I need? My short list: Roll bar, 2" above helmet. Manufacturer (Hard Dog) says it is Solo I legal with h...

I forgot about RacerParts Wholesale, I'll check them out. Joe, I'm on a six month assignment in Monterrey Mexico. Should be back somewhere around Pagoda but with moving into a new apartment and having to aquire new wheels I'm not sure I'll be able to make it but I'll try. The Swift should do well on...

Need longer than stock exhaust hangers
Installed a used cat-back on a friends car and it fits okay but I need some exhaust hangers that a longer than stock to have the exhaust exit the proper height. I need hangers that are 2" or 2.5" center to center. I quick search through Summit didn't list the actual length of their hangers...

We are just the voices of reason trying to help ya There's a reason all of Roy's friends refer to him as the cantankerous old bastard ;) It'll be an interesting experiment and I'm sure it'll be a learning experience for both of us when it comes time to drive it. The Swift's greatest attribute is it...
