Re: Race Suit Class Requirement?

In Hillclimbs there is a lot of time between runs. It is nicer to have a two piece suit because at the top of the hill you can just take the jacket off instead of having a bulky top tied around your waist. In the pits unless you plan on removing your suit it is again nice to only have the pants on.

Re: 2014 Duryea Hillclimb

Maybe Maple Grove would be interested in going in on a group buy with the PHA?

Re: View from Station 1 @ Summit

Thank you Steve. Thats the first time I have gotten to see how stable my car looks under heavy braking. My old fox would nose dive even with 1050 springs up front. Big thanks to you and Nancy for coming down to work! As well as all the other peeps who made it possable for us to play with our toys!

Re: Working Jefferson

Thank you Steve and Nancy for coming down to work. And thanks for the input on the line. Even though I only got to make one run on sunday I did get a much better feel for what you were talking about. Thanks again!

Ya know what guys, I will make it a priority to run a hill next season and maybe we can get together and drink a few. Life is too short to argue. Sound good?

Re: petite Le Mans

First,,,Steve glad to hear you are working things out with the Mach!!!! Second,,, hang on a minute Mark I did not single anyone out, well except for Jeremy. I did not say the whole group of new drivers was lacking in showing support, most of them did. But it was a bit sad to see some newer faces tha...

Re: petite Le Mans

It comes down to the smart ass attitude that seems to flow so freely from people that have only been coming to the events for a few years. I took time out of my busy schedule to work on a corner this year at Duryea and when the corner workers and I would stand there to give a friendly wave to the dr...

Re: petite Le Mans

Really Jer??,, Dave starts a thread to let us in the PHA know that his son (who raced all the PHA events for a number of years until Roger Penske decided to move the team down south) is involved in helping out a team in the ALMS series. And you have to hijack it with pure crap. And people wonder why...

Re: Can anyone let me know in advance...

I just thought of this Adam. I met a guy last year at Summit Points driver school who builds and drives Dwarf 2005 Mustangs. I will try to find his info and pass it along to you.

Re: New Mach owner

Thank you Mr. Lewis. And thank you as well to Adam!!! Great car and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Something that is completely able to go on a long drive yet is still just radical enough to have SERIOUS attitude when the road is open or twisty. And Adam you did an excellent job picking that ...

Re: Mach rebuild under way

Steve,

Did you decide on what to do about your hood yet? Could you get a big cowl hood, and with some elbows run the intake tube strait back over the top of the engine. If you wanted to get fancy you could even make an air box at the back of the cowl so you would only injest cool fresh air.

Re: I want to come out and play again!

Looks great Brian!! Just food for thought, I have a friend that kept braking spindles on his ITA Mr2 and during one of the replacement jobs I noticed that his shock was blown. With the heavy coil over springs he never noticed it. We came to the conclusion that he would bottom out in corners and any ...

Last I knew there was a displacement limit in street mod. Maybe that has changed in the years since I ran in the class. But if I remember correctly it was around 370ci.

Re: Dry Sump Oil Tank Placement??

A Tech will no more than me but I am pretty sure that the tank will need a bulkhead of some sort. Something that will keep hot oil from leaking/spraying inside the car on to you. One of the funniest bulkheads for an oil tank I have seen was in an old GT-1 Vette. He used a 5 gallon metal trash can. I...

Re: considering getting a car

Since you already have a Miata did you happen to consider looking into a Spec Miata that is already done? The Mazda drivetrain has been proven to be almost bullet proof in racing and there is alot of parts out there. You will have a large field to play with in Regionals ( heck there are usually at l...

Re: Jefferson

I have run at Jefferson with the PHA format for many years and I also Roadrace. I think it is a opening a can of worms by allowing passing. As some of you may know passing even in a strait in "racing" mode is not as easy as passing someone out on the highway or in a passing zone on a norma...

Ya know, the Jet cars are awesome. But it is amazing to think that the piston driven nitro cars are quicker and faster. Oh, and LOUDER!!! LOL.
