Re: Touring Car II....
Hi Ron, I remember Palmer Smeltz, but I didn't think the Volvos were in T2 that far back. I knew they were in T3, and T4. I didn't remember them in T2 til about 69. Guys' was a B-16, PV444, with a 3speed, I think. It could be that his car got shuffled around for a few years, I first ran in 65. I rem...

Re: Touring Car II....
Hi Ron, and old folks.. I hate to be the first one to log in about T2. I was lucky, fortunate, reckless enough to win the PHA T2 championship in 68, and 69, in a ferocious 1965 MG1100 sedan. All 55 horse power. The class was VERY healthy back then. We had SAABs. Minis, VWs, FIATS, NSUs, Cortinas, BM...

Re: 50 Years of Hill climbing!
Hi Folks, I'm late on this, but, The PHA "Veterans" Reunion was great. Thanks to John and Jeanne Brandt for having us, and to Ron Mann for organising the event. Gloria and I saw folks we hadn't seen in many years. For those folks who didn't hear about it, I understand it was meant to be fo...

Hi Rich, The Reisentoter reunion must have been a great event. I ran hills when the foks you mentioned were competing. I remember Dave Redmond when he raced a Lotus Super 7. My wife Gloria had one at the same time. Did Sandy Sadtler have the Yellow Elva 7 with the 4 cam carrera 4 cyl. engine. I almo...

Re: The Women of Hill Climbing....
OH I almost forgot,,, Thanks to the article on Judy,,, I won an argument. I argued for years that Lotus Super 7s ran in C production before they were moved to D, and eventually to E production. Everyone said they were NEVER in C prod.. Bull Hockey.. we were there. Gloria Hartman had one, and I knew ...

Re: The Women of Hill Climbing....
I remember Judy as being quite a competitor. She was still racing a few years after I started running hills in the mid sixties. She was good friends with a guy named Mickey Cohen who, as I remember also raced a Lotus, a 23 b I think. She was always active in the running of Duryea even when she stopp...

Pretty sure this may have been pre Charlie....I can aske Dave himself There is no "Pre Charlie",, time period I think that he and Dick Guthoerhlein were there from the beginning of "Hershey Hill Climb" and, possibly, saw the invention of the wheel. They both are older than me,,,...

when we raced the Mini-Stockers in the late 60s'
The photo looks like it may have rained that day of Daves' FTDat Hershey.
Does anyone know if in fact it did ??
I'll bet Charlie Demmy of ASCC would know.
