Re: Please help figure out what class my new toy will fit in
Dan, This car appears to fit the fairly new class of SMX. It is basically for street cars that have a non-manufacturer engine swap. Here's the PHA supps: Street Mod Extreme (SMX) The intent of this class is to allow production vehicles modified beyond the boundaries of the Street Modified and Improv...

Re: Classes & Fees
Welcome to the PHA. I'll try to answer some of your questions. As far as class, I would need more information to really determine that. I would say look at the PHA supps for classes that are available. The after market S/C rules out any SCCA GCR class and depending on car prep, probably solo Street ...

Re: Car Classifications and other Questions
As for safety equipment, the prices vary significantly depending on vendor, brand name and use. If it meets current SFI or FIA specifications, it should be built to a certain level of quality. Since you're in western PA, there are a number of hill climbers in your area. Check out North Hills Sports ...

Re: Pre-Event Tech advice
One of our tech inspectors lives in York county but I'm not sure where. Try contacting Kurt Eikenberg (717) 993-3198 or dogpatch88@mac.com. He should also have log books available. Good luck.

Re: Jack Lorah
Here's another link to the Jack Lorah in Leola. It states he raised Arabian horses and was a barber. Since I don't know Jack, that may help determine if this was the right individual. There's also a photo of him in the obit.

Re: Jack Lorah
Don, a search for Jack in Harrisburg turned this up:
Jack Lorah
271 West Main Street
Leola, PA 17540-1755

but it also found this:

Re: Rally class vehicle compliance and tech inspection
Don, I agree with your comments but, when it comes to classing, we are self-regulating. If someone is not following the rules for their class, any competitor is free to protest that car. As a tech inspector, we do not get involved in classing issues. We mainly check driver's safety gear and make sur...

Re: RIP Derek Witman
Hi everyone, a public viewing for Derek (Dale's son) will be this Friday from 2-4:00 at Milkins-Giles on Kutztown Road in Temple. Please pass this on to anyone local who might want to come, but there will also be a notice in the newspaper. I'm sure I can say from all of our hearts, we hope to see an...

RIP Derek Witman
It is with a heavy heart that I announce to the Hill Climb community that my brother, Dale Witman lost his son this morning. Derek passed away about 10:30 AM with his family at his bedside. I don't have any further information but will post details as they become available. Please keep Dale and his ...

Tech will be available in the pit Saturday morning but you are going to be very busy with novice meetings. If you put your completed tech sheet, log book and safety gear on, in or near your car, we will be able to check it without you being present. Good luck.

I spoke to Gordon today and, yes, he is at home and sounds much better than the last time we spoke. He's still not allowed to drive and has a nurse attending him several times a week. He's still on intravenous antibiotics thru a pic(?) but he sounds like he's in good spirits. He hopes to be back at ...

Re: Gordon
I stopped to see Gordon this afternoon. He seems to be in good spirits but will be in rehab till at least next Wednesday. It seems he has a blood infection and problems with his collar bone and rotator cuff. He's on some major antibioticsfor the infection and, of course, they are causing other issue...
