Re: Polish Mountain Repave
I disagree. The condition of the WAS the problem. There is nothing anyone can do about the weather. Every time we have had wet weather the National Road Group has gone out of their way to a minimize the problem in the pits. I think it is great news for everyone. A big thanks to John Felten and his g...

Re: Polish Mountain Hillclimb
Polish Mountain Hillclimb is approaching fast. At this event you are offered way more runs up the mountain than any of the other venues and you have the separate return road to keep the event moving. Registration needs to pick up to keep this event viable . I know some say it is too far to drive, b...

Re: SCCA Time Trial & Hillclimb Driver License Changes
Should a person new to his/her first hillclimb event request a Novice Log Book or Participation Log Book from National or will they be available from the event's chief driving instructor?

Re: TIME TRIAL AT VIR
A quick read of the supps, seems like they're not allowing open-wheel or sports racers in the time trial? Full course at VIR is VERY cool, and the price is nice, but read the supps before you commit. It's a really great track and facility! Rich Yes, It looks as if they have decided to use the new N...

TIME TRIAL AT VIR
I know some of you remember and attended a time trial held at VIR some years ago. There is talk of holding another Time Trial at VIR. It would probably be held in conjunction with a re-scheduled road race over the December 8th & 9th weekend. I know it's a long drive for many of you, but those th...

Re: SCCA Time Trial Annocement
It's easy enough to submit comments and suggestions to the SCCA about this. There's a link to the comments form on the SCCA homepage. I encourage anyone who would like to see changes made to any aspect of the proposed format, classes, and rules to take advantage of this opportunity before their pla...

Re: SCCA Time Trial Annocement
Stan, I think that SCCA prohibits mixing open wheel/sports racers with tin tops. This whole proposal is aimed a Solo drivers. Look at Solo Nationals total car count and compare to the number of open wheel/sports racers. We just don't make up a significant number as far as being "paying" cu...

There are several configuration for the Shenandoah Circuit.

"Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the records are by CW and CCW, not by Spring or Fall. If there are no other factors involved, I vote CCW (I think it's more fun that way)." Ken, forgive an old senile guy, what was I thinking. See you in the spring and please make sure I run t...

Re: Spring Jefferson
My best lap times are the same in either direction so it comes down to comfort level. I like running CCW, but there are other considerations. Changing the race direction for the Memorial Day weekend could have an unintended impact on lap records. The fall move to the Shenandoah Circuit will be fun a...

Re: 2016 TT Licensing
Since I hold a road facing competition license and a physical examination by a physician is a requirement, the change in the Time Trial License Application wording does not effect me. Still, curiosity got the better of me concerning the medical requirement for a full TT license. Prior to this change...

Re: 2016 TT Licensing
Dave, I understand the PHA has no control. I just find it strange the SCCA would allow a driver to determine his/her fitness to compete without independent medical backup. If the wording used by the TTAC was intentional, the medical fitness of a driver competing in a potentially dangerous and high s...

2016 TT Licensing
It seems the medical requirement for a full time trial license has been changed.
As it is written, you fill out the medical history form and sign it yourself. You are not required to have a physical performed by a medical doctor.
Was this intentional?

Re: Arm Restraints ?
You are required to properly wear arm restraints in all open top cars. See page 88 of the GCR ( section 9.3.19) for information.
Window nets for closed cars is covered on page 107 (section 9.3.64). You are not required to wear arm restraints in closed cars with window nets.

Re: Inspection Clarification Please
If your professionally built cage was built using the SCCA GCR as a guide, you should not have any problem. It is the driver's responsibility to properly class his/her vehicle but the tech inspector can help guide you. If the car meets all safety requirements, there will be an appropriate class to r...
