Terrible news
I just got word this morning that Brian Yoder, former hillclimber, passed away on Friday. For those that do not know, Brian lost his brother, with whom he was very close, a few months ago. I have heard that he took his own life, though I do not know exact circumstances at this point. I will try to p...

Re: Giants
Wow, so close to being on TV... I'm in the background of Joe Wilkie's shot, talking to Rick Kase, then screwing with my helmet (what was I doing??), and then, you can see the back corner of the Camaro with Mike Robinson stepping away in the 2nd last shot... At least it looked like Rich Rock and Matt...

Re: Jefferson
OK, you guys are lucky. I had a patented Matt Green Response (TM) all typed up, then lost it. You get the quick version. On the Shenandoah issue- It costs over $6000 MORE to rent that circuit for the weekend versus Jefferson. Divide that among 75 drivers, add in the transponder rental cost, and sudd...

Need a big favor- Spring Jefferson
Hi all, I will be attending Spring Jefferson, but will not arrive until 8pm due to other committments... I will have the whole family in tow this year (wife, 2 girls, and the dog...) so I am hoping to get the spot that I have had in the pits for the last few years. It is next to the building from th...

Re: IMPACT Decertified by SFI
If you have an affected product, please check to see if it is also FIA certified. If it is, then the SFI tag is irrelevant.

Re: WTF!!!!!!
Yeah, I was impressed by the coordinated effort by SCCA and NHRA to make so many April fools... Kudos to them.
The article on NHRA.com was pretty funny too.
Note: just checked back, and it's nice to see they let everyone off the hook with the little note at the bottom of the article.

Re: IMPACT Decertified by SFI
Ah, sorry. While waiting for the "official SCCA word", we should remember that the rules require a certain SFI or FIA cert. If the product does not have an FIA cert, and is an affected IMPACT product, then as of April 27th you technically can't use it, since its SFI "certification&quo...

Re: IMPACT Decertified by SFI
Prior suit decert. I own a Simpson suit so I wouldn't have had any reason to look at this stuff. Now I do. I fail to see how any Simpson suit would be affected by this. Currently, Bill Simpson has nothing to to with Simpson safety products, and hasn't for a number of years. All previously made Simp...

Time Trial on Shenandoah Circuit at summit Halloween weekend
Sorry for the late notice, as I thought it had been posted here before... DC Region is running a PDX and Level 2 time trial (SCCA) on the Shenandoah Circuit this coming weekend. Registration closes Monday night, but I think if you call them, you may be able to get in late on Tuesday if needed... All...

An apology
Hi all- It was recently brought to my attention that I have been less than cordial on several occasions lately. One specific example was the Driver's Meeting at Jefferson, and upon thinking back I have thought of several others. Rather than make excuses about being busy and stressed (who isn't these...

Re: Safety Steward Training
Cwazy Question- What if I did this training on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon at Jefferson? It would happen from 7-9pm or so on Saturday night for the lecture portion, then a 1 and 1/2 hour discussion on Sunday afternoon after the close of competition (we could even take the discussion off-si...

Upcoming PDX and Club Trials in DC Region on 4/4
I wanted to send an invitation out to everyone to attend the upcoming PDX and Club Trial at the Shenandoah Circuit of Summit Point. Registration on DLB or thru the Washington DC Region Region web site. As it stands now, the event is undersubscribed which means fewer cars on track and more fun for th...

Re: Safety Steward Training
Forgot to mention times-
I'm assuming starting at 10am, going until about 3pm (with lunch in there). After that, I'd like to take people up to the hill to discuss things if people are interested, but that's not required.
