Re: CLimb to the clouds

Sounds good I am serious as well. I will probably take the wife and kids (dogs) in the RV.

Good luck on Mt W.

Re: CLimb to the clouds

Sorry to hear, but somehow not surprised. Jeremy let's get serious and try to go to Pike Peak 2012. It should be fully paved by then. The best part is they appreciate HP. LOL

If you would like to go as a spectator this year, let me know. We should try to get a group together to go out.

Re: Great Pics from Wellsboro Winter Rally

One it's over the Ford Event here at Carlisle and two I really don't think the suspension would handle the abuse of STPR. It really is more of a tarmac suspension. I am sure the entry will go to good use 8)

Re: Great Pics from Wellsboro Winter Rally

This was actually my second rally. I also competed in Rally New York in the same car in 2009. RNY is a full tarmac event. After over 20 years of racing this was my first experience on anything other than paved road. The team aspect, endurance and the cultural difference of rally is very cool. Howeve...

Great Pics from Wellsboro Winter Rally

http://photoamma.smugmug.com/Cars/Wellsboro-Winter-Rally-2011/15819954_FTbTv#1186165375_uCtat It was a lot of fun! We finished 1st in class and 2nd overall. This was my navigators first time at any motorsports event and he loved it. I am going to try and get him to a few hills this season. Bill III

Re: CLimb to the clouds

You will be surprised what a difference the restrictor makes. In the 1.8T Audi motor it is huge all across the board. The open class rally guys have designed engineered and built these cars with the rules in mind. Don't get me wrong they are playing by the same rules, they just aren't reverse engine...

Re: CLimb to the clouds

I certainly do understand insurance issues. I deal with them all the time. I kind of find it hard to believe that the insurance company knows the difference or cares about the difference between 400 and 500 horsepower, but maybe they do. I was just very disappointed when I saw the rules, because I r...

Winter Wellsboro (STPR) Rally

A friend from work and I are going to run this event http://www.stpr.org/2011winterrally/ next week, Feb. 12th. If anyone else is going let me know. Ron my co-worker has never done any type of motorsports event and he is very excited about navigating. Actually, I think his 12 year old son is more ex...

Re: CLimb to the clouds

I started the process of getting registered last fall. I even received an email a few minutes before the official posting. I was very excited about the event, until the rules were posted. I already knew I would have to make pretty big suspension changes to the yellow #06 Audi, but I am really not pr...

Re: Possibble help for next weekend at Summit

Thanks guys. I seems like Tonya may be coming at this point. With a new car the more hands the better though. I am headed over to the shop now to work on a few things. I'm really getting excited about the whole thing.

Thanks again and cya Friday

Possibble help for next weekend at Summit

I am planning on bringing the Breda Prototype car to Summit next weekend. The weather looks great by the way. I am not sure if Tonya can join me or not. I am also not sure if I will need any assistance, but I would love to have a backup plan for just an extra set of hands. You know me, if anything m...

Party this weekend at Duryea

Well don't really know how much of a party it will be, but I will be bringing my RV to camp at Duryea. For those that will be around Friday or Satureday please stop by an have a few. I think Geoff (Fiat X/19) and the Gladfeltor crew are all camping so feel free to stop by. I'm really looking forward...

Thanks for all of the help. It seems like STO was designed for Ex world challenge cars. I am getting the car ready now and I will see you all this weekend.

Re: I need help with classing...

LOL even though the car is complete and in pretty good shape there are a few things that need to be addressed. Believe me I think about what it will be like everyday, but I want to try and do it right the first time.

Re: I need help with classing...

And yes I would love to bring the new car, but I need to spend some more time in it before I put any hills on the schedule . I also think I may need my balls to mature and grow for another season lol It's going to be a great car it's just a project that needs to be well planed and thought out. I am ...

Re: I need help with classing...

Thanks guys. Not that I care nor am I complaining but some of the cars that run rally class do not conform to strict rally rules. I considered running the rally car But I am just concerned about falling asleep on the way up the hill. The 1.8T just is not a 2.7TT. Speaking of the rally car I thinking...

I need help with classing...

Hey guys not 100% sure I am going to run Duryea, but if I do one choice may be to bring my Silver Audi. It is a 2000 Grand Am Cup car with the same drive train as the Yellow car. There are a few differences and this car will not be as fast, but for the most part they are the same. What choices do I ...

Re: Turn 2 @ Duryea

Just for the record I have welded center and rear diffs in my car and it is fairly smooth. Any bouncing in my car comes from the to stiff suspension. Maybe that limits the bounce, produced by the welded diff to an extext. I'm not offering a solution just adding some input. By the way my motor should...

Re: Photos needed for 2009 year book.

Ron I have plenty of vette pics from the 12 hour at Summit and from here at Carlisle. The only thing I have from Duryea is the in-car video.
