Re: Nelson Kase

Rick,

I was very much saddened to hear that Nelson died today. He was a a good friend and I will miss him as will the Hillclimb community.
My prayers and wishes are with you and your family.

Re: Hillclimb License Physical

Me too. Hello Jon! Our records indicate that your SCCA physical exam will expire on September 19, 2019 which means you'll need to submit a new physical with your competition license renewal. Per the GCR, Appendix C, Section 2.1.A., SCCA can accept the completed Physician's Examination form, a comple...

Hillclimb License Physical

I would like to know if you need a Medical Physical for a Hillclimb License? Seems to be conflicting info at SCCA site.

Giants Despair Flood

My race car was stranded by the flood and unable to get to the grid on Sunday. I talked to Daryl Danko about the problem and how we were going to get our trailers out at the end of the day. Daryl and his crew immediately took action to address the problem. Tough job for sure. With their help I manag...

TECH PROCEDURE FOR SHENANDOAH EVENT

Because of time restraints Tech procedure will be as follows: 1. If you have an Annual Tech or ran at Duryea Hillclimb you are asked to bring Log Book and Tech Sheet (please have both forms filled out) to registration. A Tech Inspector will have sheets available at registration if needed. 2. All oth...

Re: Fall Weatherly 2015

Larry, Your skills with the camera and editing are much appreciated. The video of me at Weatherly is just too cool. I went to Weatherly to learn how to drive the "new car" on the hills. Saturday was a day of trial and error. George Bowland must have been talking with the racing spirits bec...

Re: my auto events

Ray,

Man, you are genius!! I added my car to my garage again and the website let me register on line. I tried everything I could think of including... 5 different computers, 4 different browsers no luck. Hopefully you'll be around next year when I need to register for events.

Thanks again,

Kurt

Re: 2013 Polish Mountain Hill Climb

I'd like to propose a challenge. Since this a fund raiser for the Flintstone Fire Company and we need more racers to attend I will donate (to the Fire Company) $10.00 for every driver who is registered and runs the hill. This is a great hill, a great event, great people, and for a good cause. Don't ...

Re: Concerning my crash at Giants....

Hi Nigel, I just watched the video of your crash. If you remember after the first run on Saturday I warned you to stay off the center yellow line because it had no grip causing the car to swerve as you crossed it. Your right front tire was on the yellow line when you hit the brakes, locking the righ...

Re: Proposed change for 2012 year end points.

You can run all the scenarios you want but they really are not real life. Nelson posted stats showing the following: Total # of drivers 184 with the following participation 8 events = 17 7 events = 15 6 events = 14 5 events = 11 4 events = 9 3 events = 27 2 events = 31 1 event = 60 only a few of the...

Re: Proposed change for 2012 year end points.

I liken the extra 2 points to other race series that give points for Pole, most laps led, fastest lap time, etc. It just makes the game more interesting. Most drivers would like to break their class record but few are able to develop the necessary driver skill and car preparation needed to do so... ...

Re: Proposed change for 2012 year end points.

Breaking a Class Record is a real achievement that is possible for everyone in every class to accomplish. I don't think we adequately acknowledge the feat when a competitor does break the existing Class Record. I have been thinking about how we could make the acknowledgement a little sweeter. I am t...
