Jeff, I hope that "getting involved" doesn't mean being on the winning side of every debate. I don't think the issue has been decided yet. And I think there is a lot of input coming in from other parts of the country. But the simple fact here is that the genie is now out of the bottle. The...

I was a novice in 2005. I bought a car with a cage because I didn't want to hit a tree without one. I had considered running my WRX, but there was no way I wanted to go that fast without a cage and I didn't see any convenient way of installing one that wouldn't get in the way on the street. Put me i...

Great memories! In the early '80s I worked for the Cibie/Marchal light folks and we were heavily involved with SCCA Pro Rallies. I remember Rod Millen (and John Buffum) very well. Millen was a factory Mazda driver in those days and used Hella lights, so to us he was a "bad guy". But he was...

Rules

As a result of being mentioned in Jeff's article, I received a call from a guy interested in getting started as a hill climber. I referred him to this site and to the SCCA site for information. After our conversation, I decided to go see what I had done. There is indeed a link to Time Trials rules f...

Put me down as a potential customer for videos! Vintage or modern. We have a pretty long off-season and watching hill climbs on TV helps pass the time.

If we have any way of transferring this film to a 21st century format, we should try to make sure that PHA somehow wins this auction.

I heard that the dates had been changed for this event to avoid a conflict with the Nashville TT. Does anyone know if there's any truth to that?

Why don't we add a workers' area to the forum. I know there are some who participate now, but perhaps more would if we had a dedicated area. I lived in Winchester, VA for 20 years and might be able to recruit some help for Jefferson from the area down there. I'll make some phone calls and see if the...

Go to http://www.scca.com and click on the link for Club Racing on the left side of the home page. Then click on "Cars and Rules". Next to "Documents & Books" you will see a link to downloadable time trial rules. You'll find the answers to all of your questions there.

When I got into this stuff the first time around I lived in Danville, VA. VIR closed the year before I got my competition license. Charlotte and Rockingham were the closest tracks 2-3 hours away. Beyond that was Summit Point at 4 hours and Road Atlanta 7-8 hours down the road. We even towed to Texas...

Wow! The train nuts are all coming out of the closet! Cumberland is a great train watching town and the Western Maryland Scenic is one of the only "scenic" railroads I've ever been on that lived up to the name. (I've never been to Cass.)

That answers my questions about Snowshoe. Count me in. I don't mind towing and would like to see more competition between NEDIV and SEDIV if not full national events. The only way for that to happen will be to develop these venues that are in between.
