Hershey Vintage Hillclimb

I was wondering if the Hershey Vintage Hillclimb is still being held. I ran the first and second ones in 2002 and 2003 but haven’t seen much about it lately.

Lime Rock Historics and 50th FF Anniversary

I'm going to have to cancel my entry for Shenandoah this weekend, as I got invited to enter the Lime Rock Historic races and the 50th Anniversary of Skip Barber's first SCCA FF Championship in 1969. They even covered my entry and found me vintage tires to use. No other Caldwell D9s had entered and t...

Thanks PHA

Just a word of thanks from NC for all you folks do in keeping the original tradition of SCCA hillclimbing and time trials alive. The folks at SCCA HQ don't seem to believe it works any longer but you are proving it does with record turnouts and great events. Thanks you so much.

Re: Duryea 2018

I was just thinking this hillclimb is one in which the competition begins the minute online registration opens, just to get entered. That's kind of kool.

Nite life?

So, I enjoy getting out on the towns we visit. What restaurants and bars do the locals think are the best in Wilkes Barre?

Re: SCCA Time Trial Annocement

Thanks for posting Ted. As a old, open wheel, formula ford enthusiast, I still feel uncomfortable. Having just invested thousands on the rebuild, I hope I have a place to play for a few more years, besides vintage racing. I'm not really interested in road racing. Time trials/hillclimbs are what I en...

Re: SCCA Time Trial Annocement

I watched the Grassroots Motorsports Live web cast. As I had heard, sports racer and open wheel drivers are not included in the present class structure for the SCCA TT National Championship. The reason Heyward gave was not clear to me. I think there is still time to correct this if all of us "d...

Onboard my Caldwell D9 FF1600 @ 2017 Polish with data

My best run from Saturday. I never did any on Sunday because I was waiting until the afternoon to push it. The Caldwell had other ideas and drove itself off the road. Seriously I think the steering rack broke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2OpSV--QI

Re: Onboard video from Shenandoah TT

Thanks Greg, good to see you again too. 30 years of development and so many hours will do that. Unfortunately, I'll be ginning cotton in a few days. Good luck up there.

Shenandoah review

Thanks so much for running the Labour Day event at this amazing track. It's not a easy track and that's what makes it so challenging. Of course Saturday was frustrating for everyone but I think that's to be expected with running a new track. Sunday was much better and ran much smoother. I hope every...

Onboard video from Shenandoah TT

Here are my quickest two laps from the Fall Shenandoah onboard my vintage 1970 Caldwell D9 FF1600. Finished 5th OA out of 76. One of my best results ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0joQyYqSTM

GCR question

I run a SVRA legal 1970 Caldwell D9 in Historic 3. These rules for vintage formula cars are based on the 1973 SCCA GCR. In the FF1600 class we are restricted to 13 X 5.5 wheels, restricted 1600 cc Ford Cortina engines (only blue printing and head work allowed, no cam or compression changes allowed),...

Re: Configuration for Shenandoah TT

Thanks for the update. Bill Scott actually traveled to the famous Nurburgring to survey the Karrosel so he could create turn 13. He was a Formula Ford and Super Vee champ before retiring to own and operate Summit Point. I really believe he created the perfect venue for small displacement formula car...

Configuration for Shenandoah TT

As there are various configurations that can be run at Shenandoah, I was wondering which one will be used for our first visit there?
